IEEE ICORR 2011 author guidelines

The paper submission system is open again. If your paper has been accepted, please revise your manuscript based on the reviewer's comments and submit the final version by Friday, April 15, 2011. Please be also aware of the Digest Slide and the Copyright form.

Digest Slide (to appear in the conference program):

During the submission of the camera-ready paper, please submit a grayscale picture in JPG format to illustrate your work and enter three to five bullets on the Digest tab. The reference format is 6x4 cm (2.4x1.6 inch) with a resolution of 300–600 dpi, and a maximum file size of 300 kB. Submitted pictures that do not correspond to the reference size will be scaled to fit. Please provide high quality material, as this will appear in the printed conference program.

Copyright Form:

A completed copyright form (available at http://www.ieee.org/publications_standards/publications/rights/copyrightmain.html) must be submitted by e-mail or fax to  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or +41 44 809 42 01 to complete the final submission process.

Paper Formatting Guidelines:

Your paper must comply with the following guidelines, including the PDF eXpress compatibility.

  • Templates: submissions, regardless of presentation format, both invited and freely submitted, must be prepared in US letter, double column IEEE-compliant PDF format using the standard IEEE conference templates (Word and LaTeX) available here: IEEE template page
  • Page limit: full papers will be accepted. These must be 4 to 6 pages long, with the possibility of up to two additional pages subjected to an overlength charge. Submissions with less than 4 or more than 8 pages will not be accepted.
  • PDF compliance: submissions must be converted to PDF and pass the IEEE PDF xPress test before being submitted. Authors must acknowledge IEEE PDF compliance during the submission process.
    • instructions: IEEE PDF eXpress instructions
    • create an account and test your PDF file using the conference ID "ICORR2011x": http://www.pdf-express.org/
    • PDF submission: once a PDF paper passes the IEEE PDF xPress test, it can be submitted on the conference website in PDF format shortly.

Hands-on demos:

Authors are encouraged to present their paper through a hands-on demo at the conference, and may indicate their interest during the submission process. Presenters of hands-on demos will be provided with a small table, power supply (230V, 50Hz), wireless Internet access, and a poster board.

Workshops:

Workshops will be held on the afternoon of Friday, July 1st, 2011. Proposals for 2h or 4h workshops should include:

  • workshop title
  • name(s), affiliation(s) and contact information of organizer(s)
  • statement of objectives
  • list of speakers with presentation titles and approximate duration of presentations
  • intended audience and expected number of participants
Workshop speakers are not required to submit a full paper for the conference. Workshop organizers can directly contact potential speakers and coordinate with them to put together the workshop program. Organizers are also free to set selection criteria for workshop, and, e.g., to ask speakers to submit an abstract directly to them (which we encourage). Titles and abstracts can then be included in the conference program. Please note, however, that these abstracts will not be included in the proceedings on IEEE Xplore. For this, speakers will need to submit a full paper through the submission system accessible from the conference website, which will then go through the normal review process.

Workshop proposals should be submitted as a single PDF file via the submission site. Please use the workshop-proposal template. Proposals will be reviewed by the scientific committee and selected with respect to their relevance, quality and available space. Organizers will be notified of acceptance on March 4.

Conference:

ICORR 2011 will feature five presentation categories. Accepted papers will be divided into these categories based on the outcome of the peer reviews. All submissions will be treated identically for the review process and proceedings.

  • plenary lectures: invited presentations by prominent scientists.
  • podium sessions: 12 minute presentations followed by 3 minutes of questions. Podium session presentations will be awarded to high quality papers with topics of general interest.
  • fast-forward sessions: in order to give attendees an overview of all upcoming podium, interactive and video sessions, the presenter of each paper will be given the opportunity to attract the interest of conference attendees in a 1 minute presentation with up to two slides
  • interactive sessions: poster/demo sessions. Presenters are encouraged to demo their setups, show videos, distribute flyers, etc. to allow in-depth discussion of their work
  • video session: authors are encouraged to submit a video together with their full paper submission. Authors with high-quality videos will be attributed to this session..

Attendance:

  • at least one author per paper will have to register for the conference at the time of final submission and attend the conference to present the paper
  • failure to comply with this rule will result in exclusion of the paper from the conference proceedings and IEEE Xplore
